A Wix Core plan at $29/month looks like a tenth of a professional service. But the build is 20–60 hours of your time (design, copy, photos, mobile testing), the result competes against professionally built rivals for the same customers, and the upkeep never ends. Value your time at even $50/hour and the 'cheap' site cost $1,000–$3,000 in year one — before counting the jobs a weaker site loses. DIY wins only when the budget is genuinely hard-capped or you enjoy the craft.

Can't I just start on Wix and upgrade later?
